1. Google Pixel 9 Pro XL
The entire Google Pixel 9 lineup finally shakes off Google’s troubles with making phones that last a long time on a single charge. The Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro lasted about 3.5 hours longer than the average smartphone in our tests, but the Pixel 9 Pro XL was the best of the three, lasting over 14.5 hours.
The massive 5,060mAh battery helps improve battery life, but the new Tensor G4 silicon also excels at power management. That’s especially impressive considering how bright the Pixel 9 Pro XL display can get.
It’s also the only phone in Google’s lineup that can actually take advantage of faster wired charging speeds when paired with Google’s 45W charging stand. Otherwise, charging speeds are a respectable 37W, enough to charge a drained Pixel 9 Pro XL to 63% in 30 minutes.
2. OnePlus 12
The budget OnePlus 12R may be the longest-lasting phone in the OnePlus 12 series, but don’t underestimate the flagship phone. The OnePlus 12 lasted over 17.5 hours in our battery test, thanks to its 5,400mAh battery and the power management capabilities of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 silicon.

With top-notch specs and a massive battery, the Zenfone 11 Ultra is an easy choice. The Zenfone 11 Ultra stands out with its software, great performance, and capable camera.
Asus’s stock Android-based software offers plenty of personalization with Material You-based themes and the ability to create wallpapers on the fly. But the star of the show is its 5,500mAh battery, which is good for two days of use.
Asus isn’t the first brand that comes to mind when it comes to flagship phones. But you might be surprised at what you’re missing. The Asus Zenfone 11 Ultra is the company’s biggest flagship yet, and behind its massive size lies the biggest hit in smartphone specs to date.
From the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset to ample RAM and storage, the Asus Zenfone 11 Ultra has it all.
Great specs are always nice, but what really counts is software optimization. This is one area where Asus has done a great job. The interface, inspired by stock Android, is clean with minor additions that offer extensive customization.
Like stock Android, the phone supports Material You skinning, dynamic themes, and the ability to generate wallpapers using AI. Asus also allows for detailed customizations such as the clock face, power button menu, incoming call display, and more. There are also some gaming-oriented features, which are pretty cool.
Elsewhere, you’ll find a bright, vibrant, and reasonably large 6.78-inch AMOLED screen. As expected, it offers a 120Hz refresh rate and a maximum brightness of 2500 nits for easy outdoor visibility. In our Asus Zenfone 11 Ultra review, we found the camera to be quite good during the day.
The 50MP primary sensor, 13MP ultra-wide, and 32MP telephoto trio are something we’ve already seen on the ROG Phone 8 Pro. During the day, you’ll get perfectly good images from the primary shooter, but low-light images can be disappointing.
In our tests, the beefy battery was able to handle a full day of use without any issues. We got a decent 6 hours of screen-on time, which is a good result for gaming, YouTube, and social media.
Conservative users can even get two days of use out of it. And when it comes to charging, the 5,500mAh battery is fast-tracked by 65W support, taking just 45 minutes to charge.
5. Moto G Stylus 5G 2024
Motorola’s G series phones have a reputation for lasting a long time on a single charge. The best of this year’s G series updates is the Moto G Stylus. In our tests, it lasted more than 15 hours, and its 6.7-inch display can be switched between 60Hz and 120Hz refresh rates.
The Moto G Stylus 5G (2024) has a large battery and more than a quick 30W charging speed. It comes with a built-in stylus that’s useful for writing notes or sketching on your phone’s display.
The Moto G Stylus lacks processing power and its camera is passable at best, but for less than $400, you get a bright display, stylish design, and plenty of battery life.
6. Asus ROG Phone 8 Pro
Asus actually uses a smaller battery in the ROG Phone 8 Pro than its predecessor, the gaming phone. But don’t worry, the ROG Phone 8 Pro still sets a new benchmark with a battery life of just under 19 hours in our test.
The ROG Phone 8 Pro was 16 minutes faster than the ROG Phone 7 Ultimate. This is not only Asus’ previous gaming phone, but also the last phone to set a new record in our battery test. If you buy an Asus gaming phone, you won’t have to worry about it powering down in the middle of a game.
The 65W charger that comes with the ROG Phone 8 Pro helped charge the phone from empty to 71% after 30 minutes of charging. The phone was fully charged in 50 minutes. So, you won’t be completely out of the game with this long-lasting phone from Asus by your side. The phone will be available in February.
7. Samsung Galaxy S24+
The Galaxy S24+ is easy to overlook when the larger S24 Ultra gets most of the attention, but it’s a great phone and probably a better fit for most people. Samsung packs a 4900mAh battery with fast 45W charging, so you can easily get through the day on a single charge and keep going all night with a quick recharge.
Samsung’s flagship phone design has shifted to safety and repetition, but it still features good materials, solid build quality, and some of the best hardware available. Powered by 12GB of RAM and a speedy Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, the Galaxy S24+ is one of the fastest phones you can buy.
You can choose between 256GB or 512GB of high-speed UFS4.0 storage, along with USB-C 3.2 for fast transfers. It looks very similar to the S23+, but the S24+ has a slightly larger and brighter display, a bigger battery, and a faster SoC.
This phone packs a fairly large 4900mAh battery that supports 45W wired charging and 15W wireless charging. Fully charged in the morning, it should easily last you until the sun goes down, and if you have plans in the evening, you can charge it while you’re getting ready to head out with a quick charge.
Samsung says the phone can charge 65% in 30 minutes, and our review experience backs up that claim. Even with the 50MP main camera, you’ll still have plenty of battery life to spare, even if you’re taking a lot of photos.
Samsung also claims that this phone will get seven years of Android updates, which is one of the best support policies of any Android phone. It supports the latest 5G network bands from all three major networks, including mmWave, so you can keep using this phone for years to come.
8. Nothing Phone (2a)
The regular Phone (2a) also makes this list, especially since it’s a lot cheaper than the Plus model. While it lacks the upgraded chipset and selfie camera of the Phone (2a) Plus, neither is bad for the regular model.
And despite its slightly lower scores in our benchmark tests, the battery life is nearly identical. It’s still a two-day phone for many, and a full-day handset for everyone else.
If you’re willing to save a little money and don’t mind a downgrade from the (2a) Plus, the regular Nothing Phone (2a) is still a great choice.
9. Sony Xperia 1 V
The Sony Xperia 1 V was really impressive. It easily lasted a full day of intensive use. And with light use, it lasted 2-3 days on a single charge! I found the 30W charging speed to be disappointing for a $1,400 phone. But it’s not that bad. It’s on par with other high-end phones.
There were a few things I had to complain about in my tests. I was mainly disappointed with the price, the charging speed, the outdated display technology, and the lack of promises of updates. Other than that, it’s an amazing phone.
The camera is amazing, especially if you like video recording. It also has great build quality, amazing performance, and a 4K panel.
That said, the Sony Xperia 1 VI is just around the corner, scheduled to be announced on May 16, 2024. You might want to wait a while to see if it’s worth the wait.
10. Asus ROG Phone 7 Ultimate
Last year’s battery champion was the ROG Phone 7 Ultimate, which has long been considered legendary for its 18.5-hour battery life on a single charge. One of the most affordable entries on our list of the best phone battery life, the Moto G 5G (2024) proves once again that Motorola’s budget G series phones can last quite a while on a single charge.
In this case, the latest version of the Moto G 5G lasted more than 14.5 hours, which was achieved with the phone’s 6.6-inch display set to an automatic refresh rate that can scale up to 120Hz.
The fast-refreshing display and long battery life highlight the Moto G 5G’s value for money, which starts at just $199. For that price, you’ll have to compromise on things like processor speed and photo quality, but you won’t have to worry about sacrificing durability.
12. Nubia Redmagic 9S Pro
The new overclocked version of Nubia’s late-2023 gaming phone, the Redmagic 9S Pro, is capable of top-notch performance, but it doesn’t cost that much. The virtually unparalleled battery capacity is backed up by 80W USB-PD charging, so you won’t run out of juice even if the internal fan works hard to keep the hardware cool.
Nubia is one of the few small companies that makes relatively niche phones for global markets. The company’s phones rarely make it to the US and rarely gain traction, but some of its recent releases are finally getting the buzz they deserve.
Among these newcomers is the surprisingly affordable Redmagic 9S Pro from Nubia’s dedicated gaming division. Powered by an overclocked Qualcomm Snapdragon Gen 3, there’s no doubt that it’s built for performance from the ground up.

13. Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max
The experts at Android Police aren’t the ones to discount a good phone. Apple’s latest top-of-the-line model offers the best hardware yet, including a super-fast in-house chipset and video recording capabilities that no other Android phone can match. It may not be trying to convince you to switch to iOS, but Apple is definitely trying hard. The latest large-format phone runs the company’s class-leading A17 Pro SoC and does a lot of things right, including displaying vivid, sharp screen images that Android devices can’t match.

Combined with in-body image stabilization and a 5x telephoto zoom, this is one of the best phones for taking images and video.
Despite the sheer number of pixels it packs, this massive handset had no trouble getting through its seven-hour screen-on time. That’s no surprise, since Apple is generally good at packing good batteries into its phones and optimizing its software to minimize battery drain.
The 27W charging speed is a bit disappointing for a phone that costs over $1,200, but at least you won’t have to worry about charging the battery during the day.
14. Nokia XR20
The Nokia XR20 is a niche phone. It was released in 2021 and is designed for rugged use rather than everyday use. However, it is still available at the time of writing, and there are a few reasons why you might want to buy one. Battery life is one of its biggest selling points. For most people, this is a phone that will last you two days.
It also offers military-grade durability, a long warranty, and a low price tag. It’s worth considering as a secondary phone.
However, the outdated hardware and relatively limited performance will likely turn many people off. But there’s no denying its impressive battery life.
15. Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra
The Galaxy S24 Ultra still has the same 5,000mAh battery, so we didn’t think software improvements and SoC optimizations would make that much of a difference. We were wrong.
We tested the Galaxy S24 Ultra battery, and the difference is quite surprising. The Galaxy S24 Ultra had almost the same lifespan in most categories, and completely crushed the S23 Ultra when it came to 4K video recording.
It was able to play 4K video for 1,437 minutes, which is almost 24 hours! When I was constantly browsing the web, it lasted about 13 hours. You can check out our Galaxy S24 Ultra battery test for more details, but we can tell you that the battery life is impressive.
It can charge relatively quickly at up to 45W. You’ll need to use the right charger to get to that speed.
It also helps that the Galaxy S24 Ultra is one of the best phones in the business. It’s packed with top-notch performance, a stunning design, S Pen support, and a stunning screen. Be prepared to shell out a pretty penny for it, starting at $1,300.
16. Motorola Edge Plus (2023)
The Motorola Edge Plus (2023) proudly joins our list of the best phones with the best battery life for good reason. It comes with a 5,100mAh battery, which is a bit better than usual.
What really makes this phone last is the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 optimization. During my testing, I was able to get about 2 days of use out of a full charge. And when it came to charging, I was able to recharge to 100% in about 50 minutes with a 68W charger. It also supports wireless charging at 15W.
The phone doesn’t lag behind in other aspects. It offers great performance, premium build, a fluid 165Hz refresh rate, and a pretty solid camera experience. It’s also considerably cheaper than its direct competitors at $800.
17. Oukitel WP27
The top pick on the list is the OUKITEL WP27, a rugged smartphone. This phone stands out with its large 8,500mAh battery, comfortable design, lightness (despite being a rugged phone) and fast MediaTek Helio G99 processor that can handle demanding tasks.
