Remarkable 3 Release Date 2025

Remarkable 3 Release Date 2025: When is Remarkable 3 Coming Out?

The reMarkable 3 is the third-generation E-Ink note-taking tablet from Norwegian startup reMarkable. When it’s released, it will replace the reMarkable 2, widely considered the best paper tablet you can buy today. This notepad is ideal for those who love pen and paper but want to digitize their notes.

reMarkable 3 rumors (2025)

We’ve been hearing rumors that the reMarkable 3 is coming for almost a year now, and honestly, it’s about time the device got a proper update.

Remarkable 3 Release Date 2025

Remarkable 3 Release Date

Although remarkable has a short history of tablet releases, with only a three-year gap between its first and second tablet releases, it’s safe to say that the reMarkable tablet will be refreshed in the second half of 2025.

reMarkable 3 pricing

Since then, it’s too early to speculate on the reMarkable 3 release price. The reMarkable 2 was released in 2020 at $399, and the upcoming reMarkable 3 could start at a similar price point.

Will the reMarkable 3 come in color?

Probably not. Color E Ink technology is still in its infancy, and given reMarkable’s reputation, I wouldn’t take a chance. Color E Ink has many issues with display quality, and it’ll probably be years before reMarkable releases a color reMarkable.

Expected features of the reMarkable 3

When is Remarkable 3 Coming Out

I like the approach that reMarkable has taken with its E-Ink tablets. However, this device is missing a few key features that I’d like to see added to the reMarkable 3.

Reading UI and Performance Improvements: The note-taking UI is great, but the reMarkable 2 isn’t the best reading device. Additional file format support and less lag for larger PDFs would be a huge help to the reMarkable 3.

Adding a backlit screen: It’s very hard to read without a backlit screen. And many E Ink tablets come with backlit screens. This would improve the user experience.

Adding a tilt feature: This device doesn’t have a G-sensor or a manual landscape mode.

Adding all these features to the reMarkable 3 would make it a great device in an area where it doesn’t quite excel: reading. Hopefully, the reMarkable team will listen to their loyal users and improve.

Does the Remarkable 3 have a backlight?

It finally has color! There’s also a backlight, which users have been asking for for years. The bad news is that the new Remarkable Paper Pro pen is active, not an EMR pen. That means you won’t be able to use your old Remarkable or any other EMR pen with the Remarkable 3.
