Samsung was the first to show off the Galaxy S25 Edge. At 5.8mm, it’s incredibly thin, and you really have to see it for yourself to appreciate its true value.
Naturally, what caught my eye was that this sleek smartphone is packed with features that rival the best smartphones, including a 200-megapixel main camera, a 6.7-inch OLED display, and a Snapdragon 8 Elite chip.
However, I’m concerned that the $1,099 price tag might be encroaching on the Galaxy S25 Ultra’s territory. I wonder if the Galaxy S25 Edge’s shortcomings are worth it.

The biggest USP (unique selling point) of the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge is its design. Its feel in your hand is more important than its appearance. Just by looking at its exterior, you can tell that it’s a high-end Samsung smartphone.
Since it has a completely different design from the S25, S25 Plus, and S25 Ultra, I’d guess that it took much longer to develop. It might have been okay to release it under the name Galaxy Edge, but since Samsung is reviving the “Edge” brand with this phone, there’s probably a lot more hidden story that we don’t know about.
We can only speculate. But there’s no denying that Samsung is betting big on this phone’s success. One is for its own benefit, and the other is to set the tone for the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7.
The Edge 2025 has evolved into something completely different from what it meant in 2014-2015. Back then, it meant an elegantly slanted display, but now it means a flat, thin display.
But no matter which direction it goes and what idea it pursues, one thing remains constant: it wants to be a trendsetter. If you go out and see one of these phones, there’s no doubt it’s going to catch your eye. You’ll want to see it, touch it, feel it.
And when you actually use it, you’ll likely want to have it, even if you’re sure you don’t need it. The human mind works in mysterious ways, and this phone cleverly taps into that.
Samsung has somehow managed to reduce the best materials to create a form factor that is pleasing to the user and enviable to the onlooker.
This premium is not limited to one or two key areas, but is present everywhere, inside and out. The glass (Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on the back, Ceramic 2 on the front) and metal (titanium alloy) chassis is only 5.8mm thick and weighs 163g, giving it a design reminiscent of the old Razer phones.
The “floating” camera housing adds to the intrigue. The S25 Edge is a really cool phone. It’s no exaggeration to call it the 007 of the mobile world.
The display specs seem to have been borrowed from the S25 Plus. Since it’s not a compact phone, it has a large 6.7-inch screen with all the features of a flagship phone, including a high-resolution 1440p display, a high-speed LTPO (low-power polymer) display that can refresh up to 120 times per second, and support for HDR playback.
There’s no anti-reflective coating like on the S25 Ultra. The processor is Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite. RAM is 12GB as standard. Software is One UI 7 based on Android 15. 7th generation update is guaranteed.
Battery is 3,900mAh, supports 25W wired and 15W wireless charging. For photography, there is a 200-megapixel main camera and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera on the back, and a 12-megapixel camera on the front to support selfies. The entire package is IP68 dustproof and waterproof.
The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge makes a strong first impression. The surprisingly thin and luxurious design is not just a good-looking design, but also provides a special grip that cannot be captured in a photo.
This smartphone has solidified its position as a trendsetter by captivating people with its unique style and excellent engineering technology, and it already proves its appeal before we even take a closer look at the flagship specifications. The price also lives up to these expectations.
